When Ryan and Gabi walked into an East Village bar in January of 2023 after exchanging just a few app messages, neither one knew what to expect. But after 5 hours of chatting, the spark was lit.

Things moved quickly, with visits to the spy museum, hot chocolate tours, dim sum dates, and long hangouts in tea cafes. But despite an obvious connection, Ryan took way too long to ask Gabi to formally be his girlfriend.

When he finally did in May, things took off and they never looked back. By July of that year, they were climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro together. In August, they were hiking through Acadia National Park. By the time summer ended and Gabi went back to her job as a teacher in September, there was nothing that could keep these two apart.

Together, Ryan and Gabi have already traveled the world, celebrated friends and family across the country, and explored New York - despite Gabi being a true born and raised New Yorker, Ryan still has found ways to surprise her in the city as they've built their lives together.

In August of 2025, Ryan and Gabi headed to the airport for what she thought was a trip to visit Ryan's family in Cincinnati. Instead, they boarded a flight to St. Lucia, and Gabi had a sense of what was coming next. Ryan officially popped the question at the top of a mountain overlooking the Pitons, and she said yes.

And while this may be the end of one chapter of their lives, the rest of their story is just beginning.
